I recently spent New Year's at Cabana Piatra Runcului with my family, and it was a unique experience. The lodge, crafted from logs and filled with sheep's wool, offered a rustic charm that resonated with us. While the owners, dna. Alina and nea Vasile, were incredibly accommodating, their presence did create a bit of a feeling of closeness. Their warmth made us feel at home, and I'll admit, we got used to sharing the space quickly. The food was hearty and wholesome, perfect for families. Our kids particularly enjoyed the homemade sausages and the creamy cheesecake made with goat milk. The evening meals, complemented by palinka, added to the authentic experience. What stood out was the lodge's family-friendly setup. With plenty of space to relax, our kids were able to explore around safely, while we enjoyed moments of peace together. Cabana Piatra Runcului offered a welcoming atmosphere with real mountain charm, making it a worthwhile family destination.
